Job Description
Pipe fitters are skilled tradespeople who are responsible for installing, assembling, maintaining, and repairing piping systems that carry liquids, gases, and occasionally solid materials. They work in various industries such as construction, manufacturing, and utilities.
Responsibilities

Installation and Assembly:
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine the layout of piping systems.
- Cut, thread, and groove pipes using various tools and equipment such as pipe cutters, saws, and threading machines.
- Assemble and install pipes and fittings, including welding or soldering to join them where necessary.
- Ensure pipes are properly secured and aligned using supports and hangers.

- Inspect and troubleshoot piping systems to identify issues and perform repairs or replacements as needed.
- Test piping systems for leaks using pressure gauges and other testing equipment.
- Perform preventive maintenance tasks to ensure the ongoing reliability of piping systems.

- Select and transport pipes, fittings, and other materials to work areas.
- Verify materials against specifications and ensure they meet quality standards before installation.
